A Green Lifestyle is 25% Safer on the Road

It turns out your Hybrid car is not only better for your bank account, better for the environment, but also safer in crashes.  Sounds like a triple threat!  A recent study done by the Highway Loss Data Institute showed that being in an accident driving a Hybrid car as opposed to a car that solely runs on petroleum products is much safer.  Here’s why:

The electric engines in Hybrid cars are sturdier and add weight to the vehicles, because electric engines are about 10 percent heavier than their counterparts.  The study found that the odds of being injured in a crash is 25 percent lower for drivers of Hybrid vehicles, on average.

The study included more than 25 hybrid conventional vehicle pairs, all 2003-2011 models.
